Suzuki Violin with Ahna
(3+ year olds)
The Suzuki Method is an established and well-structured instrument method for your children to learn to play their chosen instrument.
In the studio, weekly individual lessons take place during term time. Every child learns the same repertoire, through listening, using the Suzuki Violin Method books compiled by Dr. Suzuki. The parent/caregiver attends these lessons. Music reading and theory elements are introduced once the child is confident with playing the violin, and when they are reading at school.
In conjunction with the weekly individual lesson, group lessons are an important part of the Suzuki Method. This group lesson concept is unique to the Suzuki violin method and serves to motivate and extend playing for children. We use games, singing, playing and movement. Children also have a few performance opportunities throughout the year, both as a group player or as a soloist.
Ahna has a range of violin sizes she offers on instrument hire for children while they are part of the studio.

ABOUT THE SUZUKI VIOLIN
Following the pedagogy of Dr. Shin'ichi Suzuki, Ahna provides a nurturing environment that develops the whole child through music. By creating a respectful and nurturing environment, any range of ability, discipline, and beauty within every child, can be cultivated to ultimately improve the human condition.
Children learning through the Suzuki Method benefit from weekly individual lessons, group lessons, and low pressure performance opportunities.
