The Suzuki Co-op
The Suzuki Co-op was founded by Ahna and Emma in 2019. They teach Suzuki Music lessons and classes in the Wellington Region.
The Suzuki Co-op follows the philosophy of Dr Suzuki and the concepts of DEIAB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging). Our music lessons and classes create an environment for children and their parents free from pressure in which they can gain skills in music, while developing other skills, like listening, patience, perseverance and empathy.

Suzuki Violin and Suzuki Early Childhood Teacher
Ahna Jensen
BMus, BA (First Class Honors), MA (Education)
Registered Suzuki Violin Teacher, Accredited Suzuki ECE Teacher, Orff Level 1
Ahna began playing the violin at age 4, attending Suzuki group and private lessons in Wellington. Having learnt the violin since she was small, she has a passion for fostering a joy for music in others.
In 2012, Ahna began teaching violin, undertaking study in the Suzuki Method and completing her Suzuki registration in 2017. She began further study in Suzuki Early Childhood Music Education (SECE) with Emma O'Keefe (Perth, Australia) beginning to teach Suzuki ECE classes in 2018.
Currently, Ahna has a violin studio of about 30 students ranging from 3-18 years old. She teaches violin, string ensemble, theory and SECE classes around Wellington and continues to be a guest tutor around New Zealand. She holds a Masters in Music Education and continues to undertake professional development to further her teaching.
Suzuki Cello and Suzuki Early Childhood Teacher
Emma Goodbehere

Emma began playing music at the age of 4. She attended Suzuki group lessons and private lessons on piano and violin. At 10 years old she decided to play the cello. During her secondary school years, she formed chamber groups and entered into the Westpac Schools Chamber Music Competition and in her final year at school, her group reached the National final. When she was 16 years old, she began teaching Suzuki Cello. Emma has completed all of her Suzuki Cello training. Currently, she has a studio of over 30 students ranging from 3 to 18 years old.
In 2009, Emma began her Suzuki Early Childhood Education training with Emma O'Keefe (Perth, Australia). Her Let's Twinkle Early Childhood programme started in June 2009. In September/October 2010, Emma was very privileged to study with Dorothy Jones, the founder of the Suzuki Early Childhood Education programme. She has now completed her ECE studies up to Stage 3 level.
